Question : What is the meaning of the Sacrifice / Qurban ?

Answer   : In Arabic, the Sacrifice is known by the name al-Udh-hiyyah, meaning according to it language is an animal sacrificed, or animal slaughtered on the day of Eid al-Adha. Meanwhile, according to Fiqh Expert, al-Udh-hiyyah is slaughtering certain animals, at a time certain, with the intention to get closer to Allah SWT. Other definitions: al-Udh-hiyyah is a slaughtered animal to get closer to Allah SWT, from the day of Eid al-Adha to the days of Tashrîq (11, 12 and 13 Dhu al-Hijjah) 1.
