Religion of the Prophets
Is the religion of the prophets the same? I've heard from liberals, that Ibrahim is the father of three religions. Is it true?
Answer:
Bismillah was shalatu was salamu 'ala Rasulillah, wa ba'du,
There are 2 things we need to distinguish,
[1] Religion
[2] Details of religious teachings.
The religion of the prophets is the same, that is Islam. So the principal and principles of the teachings of the prophets are the same. All teach tawheed, faith to the last day, loyal to fellow believers, and hostile to the infidels.
Allah says,
"We did not send an apostle before you but We revealed to him:" There is no god but me, so worship thou me. "(Surat al-Anbiya: 25).
Allah says, about the Prophet Nuh - 'alaihis salam -,
"And I am commanded to be a Muslim." (Surah Yunus: 72)
Allah speaks of Ibrahim,
"When his Lord said to him:" Submit obediently! "Abraham replied:" I submit to the Lord of the Worlds ". (Surah Al-Baqarah: 131).
Allah says about Ya'qub, when he has a will for his sons,
"And Ibrahim has declared that utterance to his children, as well as Ya'qub. (Ibrahim said): "My children! Allah has chosen this religion for you, so do not die except in converting to Islam. "(Surat al-Baqarah: 132).
Allah says about Musa - alaihis salam -,
Moses said: "O my people! If ye believe in Allah, then put thy trust in Him only if ye are indeed Muslims." (Surat Yunus: 84)
Allah also says about Isa - 'alaihis salam -,
"See that we are indeed Muslims." (Surah Ali Imran: 52).
While the details of religion vary from one prophet to another.
In the past, in the Shari'a of Prophet Musa 'alaihis salam, fat cows and goats are forbidden. In the Shari'a the Prophet Muhammad 'alaihi wa sallam is justified.
Allah says,
To the Jews, We forbid all the hoofs, and from the cattle and the sheep, We forbid them the fat of the two beasts, besides the fat that is attached to their backs or the large bowels and the intestines or the bone. Thus did We punish them for their iniquities; We are True. (Surat al-An'am: 146)
In the Shari'a of the Prophet Yusuf 'alaihis salam, prostration to the permissive is permitted. As his brothers Joseph bowed down to Joseph. In the Shari'a of the Prophet Muhammad 'alaihi wa sallam, prostration to man is forbidden. The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said,
"If I could have a prostration to someone, I would have a woman bow down to her husband." (Narrated Turmudzi 1159, Ibn Hibban 1291 and renowned Shuaib al-Arnauth)
The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam affirms that the religion of the prophets is the same,
The prophets are like siblings. Their mother is different, their religion is one. "(Narrated by Bukhari 3443 and Muslim 2365).
Al-Hafidz Ibn Hajar explains this hadith,
"The meaning of hadith, that the principle of religion of the prophets is the same, that is monotheism. Although the details of the Shari'a vary "(Fathul Bari, 6/489).
Liberal Claims About Religion of the Prophets
claims the liberals, that Ibrahim is the father of three religions: Islam, Judaism, and Christianity. Obviously this claims that do not fit the facts. Allah has denied in the Qur'an,
[1] Jews claim, Ibrahim is a Jewish religion. The Christians claim, Ibrahim is a Christian. They argue for the recognition of Abraham's religious status. Then denied by God,
O People of the Book, why do you dispute about Abraham, when the Torah and Gospel are not revealed but after Ibrahim. Do not you think? (Surah Ali Imran: 65).
How could Ibrahim be a Jew or a Christian, whereas a new Jewish or Christian religion existed, after they committed deviations from the Torah and the gospel. While the Torah and the New Gospels were revealed long after Ibrahim.
[2] God's denial, that Ibrahim is not a Jew or a Christian. But he is a Muslim.
"Or do you (Jews and Christians) say that Ibrahim, Isma'il, Ishaq, Ya'qub and his grandchildren, are Judaizers or Christians?" Say: "Do you know God better? more unjust than those who hide the shahadah from Allah that is in them? "And Allah is not unmindful of what you do." (Surat al-Baqarah: 140).
But unfortunately, liberals do not want to hear the Quranic proof ...
Allahu a'lam.
